The Argo under sail, painted in oxblood ink
The Argo, after Konstantinos Volanakis.

SHIP’S LOG

Two ships

The first is the Argo of Greek legend, which carried Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece. It became the constellation Argo Navis, and its brightest star is Canopus. The darkest theme on this page is named after that star.

The second is Moonlight, an odi my grandfather captained. He traded across the Maldives and in other countries. A drawing of her is the mark on every tool.
